Here’s Amy L. sporting some fine fashion.
Video coming soon!
More exit interviews! This time, it’s @lauren’s turn.
Getting the social media up in time for launch. We’ve had Twitter for a while, now we have Facebook. Feel free to like / follow both / either!

Dates, times, and even location are now confirmed for the next bootcamp. It’ll be Tuesdays, from 3-5pm, August 20-September 24 at Code for America. I’m going to announce it tomorrow, but if you’d like to reserve a slot before then, let me know. Thanks!
I’ll spread the word. Would be really helpful to have one-liners from the participants about why they would recommend it to others and/or what they personally “got out” of bootcamp.
Missed seeing all of you this week.
I got two great one-liners from Anna and Marie, and hopefully more coming. 🙂 My designer is helping me spruce up the homepage. Hoping to do a full blast on Monday.
I am so thrilled that the official Bootcamp dates are confirmed but am so bummed that I cannot participate. I definitely want to find a way to workout and connect with others who plan to do something similar. I appreciate the offer to help past Bootcampers find creative ways to stay connected, Eugene. I know that I’m going to need your assistance.
Anna, we’re going to figure out something. This goes for others who’d like to stay engaged but can’t participate this next round.
Hi Eugene! Lauren and I have been in touch and we are going to be working out together in the East Bay. We are hoping to follow the schedule for the SF Bootcamp but will likely get together on Fridays. Still working out location and time but don’t anticipate any major obstacles for confirming a space. It’s going to be interesting 🙂
Fantastic, @anna341bc! Thanks for letting me know, and so glad you and @lauren will be doing self-organized workouts. Would it be okay if I pointed others in your direction as well?
I’m totally open to that. @lauren want to weigh in?
Good morning everyone! Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
As some of you know, I put together a survey a few months back to try to better understand changemaker challenges. I finally gathered together the results (with a huge assist from Amy):
You can also read my blog post about it. Would love to hear your thoughts!
I’m revamping the website in preparation for a wider launch later next week. I’ve come up with some new draft language for the home page. If you’d like to read and offer feedback, I’ve shared the document with all of your Gmail accounts. Please feel free to insert comments or even change the text directly. I’ll incorporate the feedback and go live next Tuesday morning.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
I popped in here to post some reflections, saw your note and headed right over to the google doc. Left a few misc. comments.
Thanks so much, Amy! As usual, very helpful. And would still like to hear your reflections, too!
As I mentioned on Wednesday, I’ll be going around doing exit interviews with all of you over the next few weeks. I did the first two with Natalie and Renee on Wednesday morning before our last bootcamp. It was perhaps unfair, since that last session could have completely swayed their opinion one way or another. 😉
Nevertheless, here they are:
Looking forward to talking to Lauren, Anna, and Amy!
Thank you all again for a wonderful six weeks! I’m already missing all of you! Fortunately, I have plenty of followup work from this past session and prep work for the next!
Has anyone read Give & Take by Adam Grant? Any thoughts? http://www.giveandtake.com/Home/Index
Not me. Why do you ask?
It was just highly recommended by someone I respect. He’s one of the track curators for SOCAP, and clearly values collaborative leadership and collective approaches more than most. Of course, he’s not a collaboration group process geek like this crowd…
Adam Grant published a great op-ed in today’s New York Times entitled, “Why Men Need Women.”
I guess he’s on a publicity tour right another. Another interesting piece with Adam from our friends at Zocalo.
Hi Bootcampers!
I finally got around to publishing a blog post I wrote about the last project Renee and I did together (and this is the first Renee is hearing about it). I thought I’d share here as it touches on some bootcamp themes. Thanks for all of your inspiration, practicing, working and thinking out loud! It’s great to learn alongside you all here.

Finally, enjoy your last session tomorrow!
Nice, Rebecca. It sounds like you can be incredibly effective when you pair great clients with a great consultant.

I rocked my Changemaker Bootcamp shirt this weekend and it was a great opportunity to practice talking about Bootcamp with family members who were curious about it. Most have a hard enough time understanding the kind of work I’m involved in and describing Bootcamp to folks provided me with a different way to share what I’ve been up to.
Not only is the shirt a great conversation piece, it’s super comfy!

Love it! I want to see pictures next time, though. 🙂
